SHEILLAH MOLELEKWA WAS CROWNED MISS UNIVERSE BOTSWANA 2012

Sheillah Molelekwa was crowned Miss Universe Botswana 2012 at the end of the national annual beauty pageant held held at the Gaborone International Convention Center (GICC), Gabarone on October 14, 2012. Sheillah is 19 years old and stands 1.75 m. She will represent Botswana in the upcoming Miss Universe 2012 beauty pageant, to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA this December 19.

I WAS SHE: MISS UNIVERSE INDIA DETHRONED

“I am She “, organizers of Miss Universe India, announced on Wednesday that the winner of this year’s competition Urvashi Rautela was dethroned due to conflicts that jeopardized her participation in the international Miss Universe pageant to take place in Las Vegas.

The press release sent by the organization stated the following:

We would like to announce Urvashi Rautela’s relinquishment of her title “I am She – Miss Universe India 2012″ to Shilpa Singh, who was crowned “I am She – Miss Globe International 2012″.

Shilpa Singh will now represent India at the Miss Universe Pageant to be held in Las Vegas in December. The afore stated relinquishment is due to Urvashi’s contradicting contracts as the winner and titleholder of the pageant “Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International”, a fact which she unfortunately overlooked during her participation on I am She 2012.

Urvashi further acknowledges and agrees that she did not confirm the minimum age criteria as required under the I am She pageant as well as the Miss Universe pageant.

Urvashi was born in February 25th, 1994. Miss Universe rules state that competitors have to be at least 18 years of age by February 1st. She now joins an extense list of beauty queens who have lost their titles in 2012.

TRINIDAD: AVIONNE MARK IS THE NEW MISS TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO FOR MISS UNIVERSE

It was a great night, with 10 beautiful ladies showing off their stuff down the NAPA runway. First there was the swimsuit section, then the evening gowns, all the way to the top 5. Jessica Dedier, Sarah Jane Waddell, Ria Da Costa, Avionne Mark and Mauricia De Peza all made it to the top 5. The girls all answered their questions great "Weeeeellllll.........great enough," and it all led to the judges final decision.

After the judges crossed their t's and dotted their i's they chose one girl to represent Trinidad and Tobago in the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant in Las Vegas, and that girl was Avionne Mark.

MISS KAZAKHSTAN: INELIGIBLE TO COMPETE IN MISS UNIVERSE

Last May, media in Kazakhstan, including the portal Zakon.kz, reported that Miss Kazakhstan 2011 Aynur Tolueova would represent the country in Miss Universe 2012, while her 1st runner-up Evgeniya Klishina would compete in Miss World in Ordos, China.

Recently, the same portal made a report about Tolueova’s preparation for the upcoming Miss Universe pageant to be held in Las Vegas in December.

However, according to the official rules, she would be ineligible to compete in both the Miss Universe 2012 and 2013 pageants.

Tolueova was crowned Miss Kazakhstan 2011 at 16 years old. Reports on her victory state that she was an 11th grade student, born on February 4, 1995. In order to compete in Miss Universe you have to be at least 18 years old by February 1st. Tolueova is 17.

Even if she applied to Miss Universe 2013, when she is 18, she would be reaching the age on Feb. 4th, a mere three days after the cut-off. But the American organization is very strict about their rules and she would also be ineligible to compete next year.

The Miss Kazahstan 2012 beauty competition is scheduled for December, so they would have to appoint a representative who meets the requirements to travel to Las Vegas.

Evgeniya Klishina competed successfully in the Miss World competition in Ordos last august, placing among the top 30 quarter-finalists.

ANA LUISA KÖNIG SE CORONÓ COMO MISS UNIVERSO CHILE 2012 EN ENJOY SANTIAGO

En una ceremonia realizada la noche de este viernes 27 de octubre en el casino Enjoy de Santiago, Ana Luisa König fue coronada “Miss Universo Chile 2012″ entre 14 candidatas, para representar al país en el certamen de belleza.

König, de 22 años, obtuvo el primer lugar en una gala animada por Martín Cárcamo y Carolina de Moras y cuyo jurado estuvo liderado por el rostro de Televisión Nacional de Chile Raquel Argandoña.

La ceremonia, organizada por Luciano Marocchino, comenzó cerca de las 22:00 horas con una alfombra roja por la que desfilaron los cerca de 200 invitados al evento, entre ellos, Iván Zamorano, María Alberó, Javiera Acevedo, Marcelo Marocchino (sobrino del organizador) y Carolina Parsons.

Además el dúo de ilusionismo “Magic Twins” hizo de las suyas, mostraron sus mejores trucos arriba del escenario. Posteriormente las candidatas desfilaron por la pasarela al ritmo de “Moves like jagger” que interpretó el conocido actor Matías Oviedo.

Seguido a eso, vino el desenlace del concurso, en donde los animadores tuvieron que “rellenar” por unos minutos, mientras llegaba la información oficial de la ganadora.

MISS UNIVERSE ALBANIA IS ADROLA DUSHI

Adrola Dushi was crowned Miss Universe Albania 2012 on November 2, 2012 during the finale of Miss & Mister Albania beauty pageant. The beauty from Rreshen is 22 years old and stands 1.79 m. She will represent Albania in the upcoming Miss Universe 2012, scheduled to be held in Las Vegas this December 19.

ADRIENNE MURPHY WINS MISS UNIVERSE IRELAND 2012

22 year old Adrienne Murphy won the Miss Universe Ireland pageant in Dublin last night. She stands 1.73m tall and will represent her country at the 61st Miss Universe Pageant this December in Las Vegas, Nevada. The first runner-up was Marie Hughes. Hughes was crowned Miss Ireland 2012 earlier this year before being stripped of the crown for being over the age limit. Sarah McDermott was named the second runner-up.

ST. LUCIA'S NEW QUEENS

Pageantry St. Lucia elected its new queens for Miss Universe and Miss World during an event held at the Sandals Grande resort on November 3rd. 24-year year old Tara Carla Edward ® was chosen Miss St. Lucia Universe 2012 and will represent the Caribbean island at the Miss Universe competition to be held next December in Las Vegas. She stands 180 cm in height and comes from Gros Islet.

Meanwhile, Oneka McCoy (L) was elected Miss St. Lucia World 2013. The 25-year old from Georgetown stands 170 cm tall and will travel to Indonesia for the Miss World 2013 competition in September.

Ms. Joan Johnson, president of Pageantry St. Lucia joined forces with Ms. Yasmine Walcott and decided to hold one competition instead of staging them separately. Ms. Johnson stated to the St. Lucia star that the initiative of holding one pageant is cost effective. 10 women competed in this year’s event.
