ARTISTS ENRIQUE IGLESIAS, LI'L WAYNE AND NICKI MINAJ TO PERFORM DURING THE LIVE TELECAST OF THE 2011 MISS UNIVERSE® COMPETITION

New York, NY – August 3, 2011 – Paula M. Shugart, President of the Miss Universe Organization, announced today that superstar artists Enrique Iglesias, Li'l Wayne and Nicki Minaj will perform at the 2011 Miss Universe Pageant. Natalie Morales, news anchor and co- host on NBC's "Today" and Andy Cohen, host of Bravo's "Watch What Happens: Live" will host the 2011 MISS UNIVERSE® Pageant live from Credicard Hall in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12 (9 p.m. ET) on NBC. A live Spanish simulcast will air on Telemundo.

International superstars Enrique Iglesias and Li'l Wayne will perform the hit single "Dirty Dancer" during the swimsuit competition.

Iglesias is currently one of the most popular artists in Latin America and in the Hispanic or Latino market in the United States, and the biggest seller of Spanish language albums for a number of years. Before the turn of the millennium, he made a crossover into the mainstream English language market, signing a unique multi-album deal with Universal Music Group for an unprecedented US$48,000,000, with Universal Music Latino to release his Spanish albums and Interscope to release English albums. In 2010, he parted with Interscope and signed with another Universal Music Group label, Universal Republic.

Iglesias has had five Billboard Hot 100 top five singles including two #1s, and holds the record for producing 21 number 1 Spanish-language singles on the Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks. Up until the release of his latest album, Euphoria, in 2010, he had sold over 55 million albums in both English and Spanish. He has also had eight #1 songs on Billboard's Dance charts more then any other single male artist.

With well over ten millions in sales, unquestionable street credibility, critical acclaim, industry accolades, eight Grammy nominations, and four Grammy wins for his multi-platinum selling album The Carter III, Cash Money/Universal Motown recording artist Lil Wayne has firmly laid to rest all doubt that he is anything less than the best rapper alive today. Nicki Minaj will set the tone for the Evening Gown portion of the pageant, as she performs her hit "Super Bass". Influenced by the unpredictable rhymes of Missy Elliot along with the sexually charged attitudes of Lil' Kim and Foxy Brown, Jamaica, Queens, native Nicki Minaj was discovered thanks to her MySpace page. It was there that Dirty Money Entertainment CEO Fendi first heard her ability to freestyle and first laid eyes on her steamy set of promo shots.

After being discovered by rapper Lil Wayne a couple of years ago off the strength of a street DVD appearance and becoming the first lady of his Young Money crew, Minaj has become one of rap's most attention-grabbing MCs and this decade's Queen Bee. Her solo album "Pink Friday" debuted #1 in the Billboard Charts.

The two- hour television event, comprised of contestants representing approximately 90 countries around the world, will compete in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview. In past years, worldwide distribution of the competition has topped nearly 190 countries and territories.

Miss Universe 2010 Ximena Navarrete of Mexico will crown her successor at the conclusion of the telecast. During her reign, Navarrete traveled the world as an advocate for HIV/AIDS education, research and legislation. Named GQ Mexico's "Woman of the Year", she also continued her work as a model appearing in ads for L'Oreal Mexico and was featured on the cover of numerous international magazines like InStyle Mexico and Ocean Drive Puerto Rico.
