Ysabel Bisnath was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and grew up there. Bisnath’s parents are also both lawyers. Bisnath started playing the piano at the age of three (3). The past student of Maria Regina Grade School and St Joseph’s Convent, Port of Spain went on to read for her Law degree at Oxford University through an Open Government Scholarship which she won for her excellent performance in her Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) exams across the entire region. She was one of the top students in the entire Caribbean. Ysabel Bisnath gained her BA from the University of Oxford. Later to King's College for her masters. Ysabel obtained a Masters in International Business Law- Trade & Investment and in Human Rights Law. She passed the Bar examination both in her native country and England. Bisnath has a younger brother who is also a Lawyer. Her other interests include playing the piano, reading & diving. [3] She is an award-winning public speaker and is fluent in English, French, Italian, and Spanish. Bisnath taught English in China and also worked in Brussels. [4] “I was actually quite shy growing up. I didn’t really have a lot of self-confidence, I was quite introverted and initially in primary and secondary school, I struggled to make friends a little bit,” Ysabel explained. “After I started doing law, I realized the importance of putting myself out there and developing my public speaking skills. I see being a representative of Trinidad and Tobago now as an extension of that – I’m using my platform to voice my opinions and initiate social change” That was the statement Ysabel Bisnath gave to a local Trinidadian magazine after being crowned Miss T&T 2018. [5]

The multilingual, Ysabel Bisnath currently works as a lawyer. After becoming a Lawyer, she worked in England, Belgium and China at different law firms. She returned to Trinidad and Tobago in March 2018, from studying and working abroad, Ysabel Bisnath was elected the head lawyer of the legal team for the Ministry of Education in her country, Trinidad and Tobago.
