10 Finalistas presentadas

Ten ladies representing ten different districts have been officially approved to contest this year’s much anticipated Miss Sierra Leone in May 10^th 2014 at the National Stadium Perimeter after successfully going through a week-long audition. (See list below).

The audition, which ran from 11^th – 17^th April 2014 at the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, attracted contestants from all round the country. A panel of six carefully chosen judges assessed the candidates on a number of abilities including their eloquence, intellect, interaction and platforms.

However, four districts were absent, namely: Moyamba, Tonkolili, Pujehun and Kailahun. According to the organisers, there was a candidate from Pujehun but for some unknown reason she failed to show up for the final casting.

According to the eligibility criteria, candidates must be between the age bracket of 18-26; must not have bleaching skin; must not have given birth and must not be married.

Managing Director for the reconstituted organising body Miss Sierra Leone Ltd, Mohamed Lamrana Jalloh, said they are impressed with the final ten.

“This is a good batch,” he told AYV News. “Anyone of them will represent Sierra Leone well and they will set a standard for subsequent Miss Sierra Leone contests,” said Jalloh.

Miss Fiji 2014 Presentación de candidatas

10 young women selected for the Miss World Fiji contest made their first public appearance at Tappoo City today.

Miss World Fiji Director and Organizer Truman Bradley said he is satisfied with the selection and is confident the new Miss World Fiji can win the Miss World crown.

The National Director for Miss World Fiji Andy Blake said choosing the top ten for the Miss World Fiji is a real challenge.

Meanwhile, the final competition for Miss World Fiji will be held at the Pearl South Pacific Resort on the 26th of July and the Miss World Event will be held in London in November.
