Miss Universe Olivia Culpo goes colourblock for April

Spring has finally arrived and all of us, including Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, are celebrating! The beauty pageant queen has put some spring in her step and her wardrobe with a whole bunch of jewel-coloured styles at colourblocking.

What's this? Essentially, it is the idea of choosing outfits that are just ONE SINGLE colour instead of multi-coloured looks that we get used to.

Why? Colourblocking turns an average outfit into a statement. Think of it like a bed of daffodils. Brilliant, right? That's also what I thought about the elderly gentleman wearing BRIGHT yellow trousers who I saw this morning. It's also what you might think about Olivia's lusciously-coloured lilac dress.

Styling tip: You can't go wrong with colourblock... unless you choose an ugly colour (like pea green, for example.) Ew. Minimize your pea green. What you could do is choose a fun colour of lipstick to set off your outfit (think of it as Lego to your colourblock.) Need inspiration?
