Leila Lopes Speaks at the UNCCD Conference

Leila Lopes, UNCCD Drylands Ambassador, spoke about the need “to reduce land degradation, rehabilitate more land than is being degraded”. Along with her was the UNCCD Executive Secretary Mr. Luc Gnacadja and Mr. Dan Shepherd of the Department of Public Information of the United Nations.

The conference which took place in the Dag Hammarskjöld Library Auditorium of the UN Headquarters in New York was live-streamed online earlier at 15:00 – 15:45 GMT (5:00-5:45 AEDST).

This is one great opportunity for the reigning Miss Universe to truly empower everyone on the effects of desertification affecting the most vulnerable in our societies, women and children.
