Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2017 kicked off with a mall tour on October 10 at Plaza Las Américas, San Juan, where 40 candidates for MUPR 2017 were presented by the national director Desirée Lowry.

The 40 candidates of MUPR 2017 are Cristal Molina (Adjuntas), Tayra Soto (Aguadilla), Gretchen Colón (Aibonito), Mariam Saffar (Añasco), Niomi Cora (Arroyo), Pamela Rivera (Barranquitas), Von Marie Santiago (Bayamón), Stephanie Font (Cabo Rojo), Nicole Colón (Caguas), Tanya Romero (Carolina), Patricia Lespier (Cayey), Michelle Rivera (Coamo), Chris Navarro (Corozal), Kimberly Jiménez (Dorado), Génesis Concepción (Fajardo), Rashelle Miranda (Florida), Lilliriel Rivera (Guánica), Natcha Romero (Guayama), Karla Aponte (Guaynabo), Zudelys Lago (Hatillo), Sabrina Brito (Humacao), Francheska Fuentes (Isabela), Gabriela Pérez (Jayuya), Shakira Maldonado (Juana Díaz), Angelica Rodríguez (Las Piedras), Nidlla Mercado (Lajas), Cristal Olavarria (Mayaguez), Michelle Torres (Naranjito), Nishayra Santiago (Orocovis), Charlene Ortiz (Patillas), Layla Velázquez (Peñuelas), Jailene Román (Ponce), Sara Rivera (Rincón), Ivana Irizarry (Rio Grande), Natalie Soto (Salinas), Camille Acosta (San Germán), Danyeshka Hernández (San Juan), Elijah Rodríguez (Santa Isabel), Beverly Rodríguez (Utuado), and Kathleen Torres (Villalba).

The schedule for activities as part of the contest is as per below-

October 10 - Mall Tour at Plaza Las Américas (Initial)

November 12 - Mall Tour at Mayaguez Mall, Mayagüez

December 10 - Mall Tour at Plaza del Caribe, Ponce

January 21- Mall Tour at Las Catalinas Mall, Caguas

February 18 - Mall Tour at Plaza Las Américas (Final)

March 26- Traditional Costume Competition

April 19- Jury Interviews

April 20- Preliminary Competition

April 30- Hotel check-ins

May 4 - Grand Final at Centro de Bellas Artes, Santurce

Brenda Azaria Jiménez Hernández, Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2016, will crown her successor at the finals who will then go on to represent Puerto Rico in Miss Universe 2017.

Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2017 dazzled at the Fashion IN

Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2017 has received entry of 40 gorgeous and glamorous delegates from all parts of the country and the beauties are enjoying a great time during this wonderful pageant journey that will take one of them to the Miss Universe 2017.

Recently, the ladies were seen at the Puerto Rico Fashion IN, walking the ramp. The beauties dressed in cute apparels to catwalk down the aisle and impress their fans and astound the judges. The event was held from November 02-05’ 2016. The parade at the Fahion IN gave the contestants an opportunity to present themselves in front of local and international designers as well as get exposure to modelling experience.
