La candidata elegida era Carolyne Bernard pero sufrio un accidente y se fracturo un dedo del pie y fue reemplazada por la segunda finalista:

Comunicado Oficial: 

 Miss Universe Tanzania Committee has selected second runner of Miss Universe Tanzania 2014, Nale Boniface to represent the country at the Miss Universe pageant whereby the finals will take place in January in Miami, Florida - United States of America. The decision came as the winner of Miss Universe Tanzania 2014, Carolyne Bernard had an accident and fractured her toe. The Doctor’s report indicted that it will take at best, one month to get full recovery. However all participants are required to be ready for the competitions ten days from now. Also during the competition contestants are required to be in high heels and that would be impossible with this injury for months.
