Miss Bermuda 2014 abiertas las inscripciones

 

 

The Miss Bermuda Pageant organisers are now accepting contestant applications for the 2014 Miss Bermuda Pageant, which will be held in June 2014.

 

Eligibility requirements are in line with those mandated by the Miss World Pageant and include being between 17-24 years old, not having children and not being married or divorced. In addition, contestants must be Bermudian by birth or status and be able to travel.

 

Under the direction of Milika Trott-Seymour, the pageant was brought back from a long hiatus in 2011, when Jana Lynn Outerbridge won the title and represented the island at the Miss World Pageant in London.

 

In 2012, Rochelle Minors was crowned the new Miss Bermuda and went on to compete in the Miss World Pageant in China. Last year Katherine Arnfield won the title, and traveled to Bali to compete in the 2013 Miss World Pageant.

 

Young ladies can sign up directly on the Miss Bermuda Pageant Facebook page by pressing the ‘Apply Today’ tab or they can download an application from the pageant website.

W ostatnią niedzielę odbyła się gala finałowa konkursu Miss Polski 2013. O koronę najpiękniejszej Polki walczyło kilkadziesiąt dziewcząt z całego kraju. Rywalizacja była zacięta, ale ostatecznie zwycięstwo przypadło w udziale Adzie Sztajerowskiej. Przypomnijmy: Mamy nową Miss Polski! To ona będzie nas reprezentować na Miss World

 

 

Przed Sztajerowską mnóstwo pracy w związku z wypełnianiem obowiązków Miss Polski i przygotowaniami do przyszłorocznego konkursu Miss World 2014, który odbędzie się w Londynie. Póki co jednak Ada korzysta z popularności - dziś rano odwiedziła studio "Dzień Dobry TVN", gdzie opowiedziała o swoich planach na najbliższe miesiące.Oczywiście jak byłam małą dziewczynką to byłoby to moje marzenie, żeby zostać modelką. Później rzeczywiście zaczęłam pracować jako modelka i koleżanki z branży zaproponowały mi udział w konkursie, mówiły jak wspaniała jest to przygoda i postanowiłam spróbować.Teraz będę się intensywnie przygotowywać do Miss World 2014. Oprócz tego będę brać udział w różnego typu pokazach, sesjach, do tego dochodzą akcje charytatywne, z którymi konkurs Miss Polki jest wciąż mocno związany - wyznała miss.

 

 

Okazuje się też, że Ada ma bardzo ambitne plany związane z edukacją. Miss Polski studiuje bowiem glottodydaktykę. Co to takiego?Studiuję filologię polską ze specjalnością glottodydaktyczną, co oznacza, że w przyszłości zamierzam nauczać języka polskiego obcokrajowców. Moim hobby oprócz modelingu i tańca są moje studia. Lubię czytać książki, najbardziej psychologiczne, związane z ludzką naturą - tłumaczyła.

Mamy też dobrą wiadomość dla wszystkich, których oczarowała uroda Ady. Modelka ogłosiła bowiem, iż jest wolna. Zaznacza jednak, że obecnie nie szuka miłości.Jestem singielką. Akurat tak się złożyło. Słyszę mnóstwo miłych komplementów, choć szczerze mówiąc to mam teraz koronę, ale nie szukam księcia z bajki - dodała ze śmiechem.

Ça me fait encore un peu bizarre. Je ne réalise pas trop.

À quoi avez-vous pensé lors du sacre ?
À rien, mais c’était comme un rêve.

Vous vous attendiez à gagner ce titre ?
Non, pas du tout. Quand nous n’étions plus que quatre sur scène et qu’il ne restait que le titre à décerner, c’était très stressant et ce fut une véritable surprise d’entendre mon nom. C’était incroyable.

Qu’est-ce qui a fait la différence ?
Je ne sais pas. Il faut le demander au public et au jury qui ont voté.

El Gobierno asigna la organización del certamen Miss Gibraltar por cuatro años a Stage One y Santos Productions

El Ministerio de Cultura anuncia que el concurso para la organización, producción y puesta en escena de Miss Gibraltar 2014 ha sido adjudicado a Stage One Productions y Santos Productions, conjuntamente, por un período de cuatro años.

La propuesta conjunta presentada por Stage One y Santos Productions llevará a cabo la organización del concurso de belleza Miss Gibraltar durante los próximos cuatro años de la forma siguiente:

2014 y 2016 – Stage One

2015 y 2017 – Santos Productions

La gala de Miss Gibraltar 2014 se celebrará el sábado 7 de junio de 2014 en el Queen´s Cinema.

Miss Venezuela World 2014 inicia la  busqueda

 

Osmel Sousa, presidente de la organización Miss Venezuela, inició la búsqueda de los participantes del mister y miss Venezuela Mundo, cuyos ganadores serán los representantes del país, en ambos concursos internacionales

 

La Organización Miss Venezuela enciende los motores y comienza la búsqueda extenuante de la sucesora de Karen Soto, miss Venezuela Mundo 2013. Osmel Sousa, presidente de la organización Miss Venezuela, inició la búsqueda de los participantes del mister y miss Venezuela Mundo, cuyos ganadores serán los representantes del país, en ambos concursos internacionales.

En un comunicado de prensa emitido por la organización Sousa destacó: "Para el Miss Venezuela se buscan chicas 100 por ciento naturales, con habilidades para los deportes, desfiles de moda, canto o actuación, y enfocadas en el trabajo social. Siempre dispuestas a llevar la bandera de belleza con propósito. Con respecto al mister Mundo, también es importante que los chicos practiquen algún deporte y tengan alguna cualidad artística".

Jonathan Blum, presidente de Cisneros Media, añadió que están muy contentos de continuar sumando concursos de belleza bajo el paraguas Cisneros Media. "Teniendo a la organización Miss Venezuela y Venevision como ejecutores de tan importantes eventos, que siempre buscan no solo resaltar la belleza física, sino la belleza integral. Julia Morley, presidenta de la Organización Miss World está muy entusiasmada con la realización de este nuevo certamen, de la mano de las organizaciones con las que ha mantenido tan buena relación, por tanto tiempo".

Los interesados en asistir a los castings deberán acudir a la sede de la Quinta Miss Venezuela, en el horario comprendido entre las 10.00 de la mañana y las 12.00 del mediodía, de lunes a viernes. La estatura mínima requerida es de un metro 70 centímetros y debe tener entre 18 y 25 años de edad.

Zimbabwe regresa al Miss World

 

 

Miss Zim Trust chairperson, Mary Mubaiwa-Chiwenga has urged modelling instructors not to panic as the country’s premier modelling pageant, the Miss Zimbabwe competition, will be held this year without fail.

The pageant, which was cancelled last year, saw provincial winners being disqualified as organisers were not happy with the calibre of girls who had won.

 

Speaking to Chronicle Entertainment, Mubaiwa-Chiwenga said preparations were underway and scouting of the models would commence soon.

 

“As the Miss Zim Trust we resolved that we will not make our plans public as of now, but I can assure you that the preparations are already underway and the pageant will be held this year without fail.

 

“We are putting our house in order first and as soon as everything is in place we set the ball rolling,” she said.

The country failed to send a representative to the Miss World pageant after the disqualification of the models who, according to Mubaiwa-Chiwenga, failed to meet international standards.

 

Miss Zimbabwe 2012, Bongani Dhlakama is still the reigning Miss Zimbabwe.

Mubaiwa-Chiwenga and her team who took over from Kiki Divaris are working on reviving the pageant to match international standards.

The pageant was plunged into a crisis after the pullout of the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, which had raised stakes and value of the prizes with some models getting cars after being crowned.

 

Mubaiwa-Chiwenga, who is 1,79 metres tall, said emphasis was on height and weight.

“We are looking for tall girls like Malaika Mushandu who is 1,82 metres tall. Height is one of the most important aspects at the international showcase,” she said.

Mis World 2014 en Filipinas?????

After Megan Young earned the Philippines its first Miss World title last September 2013, Miss World Philippines pageant director Cory Quirino is working to have the country host the next Miss World pageant.

Quirino and Young personally presented their proposal to Vice President Jejomar Binay at the Coconut Palace in Pasay on February 6. A meeting with the Department of Tourism was also scheduled on the same day.

Binay expressed enthusiasm for the endeavor, but no final plans have been made. Talking to the press, Quirino said they are on stand-by, waiting for President Aquino to see the proposal. Should their plans push through, hosting the pageant would be another first for the Philippines.

Rebuilding the Philippines

Young revealed that the proposed theme would center on rebuilding the country after Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) ravaged the Visayas in November 2013.

“We want our theme to be 'rebuilding.' It's not just about hosting the Miss World pageant. The main essence of it is rebuilding the Philippines.” she said, adding that they hope for the candidates to show how the world has come together to help the Philippines.

Quirino believes Young’s Miss World victory in September, soon followed by the calamity, was “a sign from heaven.”

“Then right after [the pageant], a month later, typhoon Yolanda happened to the Philippines. So, I guess there is a message for Megan to help rebuild the country by bringing the attention of the world to the country,” she said.

Aquino, Young, and organizers hope to earn the government’s support, noting that the endeavor will also benefit the country’s tourism.

“We will have a month-long celebration celebrating the culture, the beauty, the passion of the Philippines,” said Quirino.

Young added that hosting the pageant will also show the world that Filipinos are survivors.

Social concern

Binay has given the proposal a thumbs-up.

“Ang maganda nito hindi lang naman basically [beauty pageant], meron namang social concern dito,” said Binay, who has high expectations for the project. (The beauty here is that it's not only a beauty pageant, there's a social concern here.)

"This one is napakalaki, malaking tulong doon sa mga victims ng Yolanda," he said. (This one is very big, a huge help for the victims of Yolanda.)

In the same way the country was recognized for Young’s win, he believes hosting it will make the Philippines even more visible around the globe.

“I think definitely the Philippines will get a lot of mileage this 2014, [if] Miss World will be here in the Philippines,” he said

Miss South Africa 2014 finalistas

 

 

The Miss South Africa finalists – who will be doing battle to be crowned Miss South Africa 2014 – have been announced.

The Miss South Africa pageant, presented by Sun International and sponsored by Cell C, takes place at Sun City on Sunday March 30.

The Top 12 come from around the country: Gauteng and the Western Cape have three finalists each, Free State has two and the Eastern Cape, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Limpopo and Mpumalanga have one.

They are Abigail de Jager, Mpumalanga; Anzél Stofberg, Western Cape; Caylene Marais, Gauteng; Dipalesa Mbola, Free State; Jade Hubner, Western Cape; Julia Petersen, KwaZulu-Natal; Matlala Mokoko, Limpopo; Mishka Patel, Western Cape; Rolene Strauss, Free State; Tidimalo Sehlako; Gauteng; Tshegofatso Monggae, Gauteng and Ziphozakhe Zokufa, Eastern Cape.

Their list of credentials is impressive: Many have completed or are studying for business degrees; one is on her way to become a medical doctor; one has national colours for netball; others have provincial colours for judo, water polo and horse-riding while one contestant worked for a while as a professional singer.

South African television viewers will be able to get to know their favourite finalist in the build-up to the crowning thanks to the reality show The Road to Miss South Africa being screened each Sunday on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) at 17H30.
