Standouts during the Opening Ceremonies

Missosology's panel of experts picked the stunners from every continent during the Opening Ceremonies.  

 

AFRICA   CAMEROON Denise Ayena - She was obviously the queen of Africa tonight! Her slender stature and magnetic presence was further highlighted when she was interviewed with four other beauties, where she was the lone representative from Africa.   SOUTH AFRICA Marilyn Ramos - Expect South Africa to deliver the goods when it matters! They really know the recipe of MW, and her styling that night was above par! GHANA - One cannot simply ignore the statuesque black goddess who has been very consistent since coming to Indonesia. Her smile is very infectious and can melt one's heart. 

 

NAMIBIA Paulina Malulu - She made a small impact at the opening salvo, but regained herself during the closing part when she showed up with a traditional Balinese costume. Despite the number of girls who were present on stage, she was very visible and her stance was impeccable! - standouts-during-the-opening-ceremonies

 

TUNISIA Hiba Telmoudi- This Mediterranean beauty is a rare find, and we are very delighted to see an amazingly beautiful representative from North Africa to grace the stage in Bali. Her simplicity and demure look shone brightly on stage. 

 

 

ASIA   PHILIPPINES Megan Lynne Young- Words won't be enough to describe how flawless this Filipina beauty was with her white evening gown, and a high-bun that further emphasized her long neck and pretty face. She was divinity personified!   JAPAN Michiko Tanaka- A lot of people may underestimate Japan for their poor performance at Miss World, but this year's representative is hard to go unnoticed. She is pretty sweet, cute and very personable. Tonight, she showed that amiable persona, and who could forget that giggle that she made while strutting with her free-flowing salmon gown.  

MALAYSIA Melinder Bhullar- This girl is probably the Face of Asia! She has the classic Asian look, which is perfect for any top class magazine cover! If Malaysia is going to be ignored this year, I don't know what else they have to do. Tonight, I can sum up her performance into one word: classy!

 

INDIA Navneet Kaur Dhillon - Although she came very strong before the opening ceremony, the Indian rep played a little bit "safe" tonight. But, a natural beauty does not need to overdo things just to be noticed. She is definitely a strong contender, although she badly needs a good hairstylist

 

 

INDONESIA Vania Larissa - She may not be that tall. She may not be the prettiest. But, once she opens her mouth, you are bound to listen to her. Her wit is stimulating, and that interview with the four girls gave her the chance to prove to the world that she is there to win this pageant!

 

EUROPE

SPAIN Elena Ibarbia - Spain almost backed out and decided to join Miss World 2002 very late because of the protests and controversies.  Contrary to that, this year's Miss Spain is coming strong and unstoppable!  She's obviously one of the heavy favorites and she's eager to win their first Miss World crown!  There's no turning back!

FRANCE  Marine Lorphelin - This lady is indeed beautiful without trying hard.  Her greatest asset is her charisma and it shows either in pictures or in moving camera.  She might snatch the crown and bring it back to her country after winning six decades ago!

RUSSIA Elmira Abdrazakova - Russia's beauty is sweet and naive, which are the common characteristics of past Miss World winners.  It will be very easy for her to make it all the way to the top.

GIBRALTAR Maroua Kharbouch - The girl is said to be one of those who works silently.  She's oozing with confidence and sex appeal as she walks in her red gown tonight!  She might be one of the biggest surprises come final night.

 

UKRAINE Anna Zayachkivska – Clearly a Miss World type beauty.  She is a sight to behold on stage. She's regal and demure at the same time. 

 

NORTH AMERICA and the CARIBBEAN  

 

UNITED STATES

 

Olivia Jordan – A small town girl who is now competing in the big wide world! She is sparkling onstage with her bubbly walk and a bright smile. She is definitely a standout, a beauty that radiates a lot of spark.  

 

PUERTO RICO Nadyalee Torres – She is clearly one of the favorites and one of the visible contestants this year. Interestingly, she looks like a completely different delegate onstage and she owned the stage! She is a beauty to behold with that beautiful smile

 

JAMAICA Gina Hargitay – This girl has been in our top list ever since. She is just very queenly and she showed that characteristic during the opening ceremonies. She stepped onstage full of confidence donning a white gown that truly complements her skin tone. This girl will simply breeze through the semis with ease.  

 

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO Sherrece Villafana – Another elegant beauty is now on the verge of being a crowd favorite. Her beauty is undeniable and she projected it well during the opening ceremonies. Her pale red gown looks good on her and it showed that sophistication and elegance truly blends well.   

 

 

SOUTH/CENTRAL AMERICA

 

 

BRAZIL Sancler Frantz– Okay she slipped onstage and it is really a hard landing but hey look, this girl just walked on like nothing happened. She still exuded that blonde babe vibe and glamorous beauty. She showed she has all the grace under an extreme pressure. 

 

 

ECUADOR Larritza Paraga – She doesn’t look like your typical Latina for instead of being fierce, her beauty is actually soft and approachable. A touch of frangipani that rests beautifully in her curled hair plus the generous slit on the front of her gown makes her sexy and sweet all at the same time.  

 

GUYANA Ruqayyah Boyer – She really looks elegant with her dark skin and white gown and her necklace truly added more elegance in her beauty. She certainly grew up as a person, now truly experienced and ready to tackle what challenges Miss World will be given to her.  

 

CHILE Camila Andrade – Confident and radiant, she made an entrance onstage strutting like a star. As if she is saying to the crowd: here I am! This will really make her a candidate to watch at the competition.
